Hmm, if a problem like... By September a major league baseball team had won 77 games and lost 63 games. What was its percentage of games won? How would you figure that problem out?

Find the total number of games. Then find the percentage of those games which were won.

To find the percent that x is of y, divide x by y, and convert the resulting decimal to percent form.

For instance, 3 is 60% of 5 because 3 ÷ 5 = 0.6, and 0.6 converts to 60%.
