x=0,1,2,3 and y=5,8,11,14 rule for the function represent by each table
Function rule. Find y for x=0,1,2,and 3. Then make a table for the function.
y = x+2

A function rule is an equation like \(\displaystyle y=x+2\). \(\displaystyle x\) is the input, \(\displaystyle y\) is the output. What do you have to do (multiply, add, subtract, etcetera) to \(\displaystyle x\) to get the outputted \(\displaystyle y\)?

Here is an input/output table:

0 | 5
1 | 8
2 | 11
3 | 14

Before you learn to recognize the pattern instantly, you might have to be a bit clever! What same thing always happens to the \(\displaystyle x\) to get the \(\displaystyle y\)?

This hint may or may not help you: There is a common difference of \(\displaystyle 3\) between all the \(\displaystyle y\)'s.
