This may be a silly question but It would clear a lot of for me. I forgot the different between these two things. What does it mean if somthing is compounded semi-annualy and if somthing is converted quarterly?

I don't know what it means to "convert" something every quarter, but the terms "quarterly" and "semi-annually" should have been defined in just about any dictionary you checked. :shock:

Break the year down
Annualy = 1 year
Semi = 1/2 or 2 times
quarterly = 1/4 or 4times

What this means if you invest $100 and you earn interest quarterly (the best) every 3 months or at the end of the quarter your money gains interest. Then the next quarter your money and the interest you earned from the 1st quarter gains interest etc....
