ok. how does direct variation work? i know i am probably making this harder than it has to be but we'll find out.

direct variation: y=kx (y varies directly with x or y varies directly as x)
i dont even understand that part in parentheses.

ok here is one problem that i am totally stuck on, no progress at all.

write a direct variation equation for the distance flown in any time.
the distance traveled is 375 miles, and the times is 7.5 hours. let r=rate

i have no clue how to do this, maybe the wording or im thinking to much or something but i need help, please!

thanks,

First, since 375 miles is travelled in 7.5 hours, can you tell us what r is? (r is the speed)
