Ten less than double a number is the same as seven times the number find the number.

I am not sure how to set that problem up I have no clue in how to do the problem.
is it 2x-10 I am not sure what to do?

What does x represent? You should ALWAYS start by defining the variable. I assume you mean this:

let x = the number

Then "ten less than double the number" would be 2x - 10.

What about the rest of the sentence? It says "is the same as"....that is where an " = " sign goes.

And then "seven times the number".....if the number is x, how would you represent seven times that number?

ten less than double the number is the same as seven times the number
2x - 10 = ????

You can finish the equation, and then solve it to find the value of x.
