I need help with this problem too please. I need to subtract -3.4 - (-7.6). My formula is 7.6 - 3.4= -4.2. Is this correct? Please advise. Thank you.

First, those are NOT integers; integers are whole numbers.

2 consecutive minuses make a plus; example: -(-2) = 2

7.6 - 3.4 = 4.2 , NOT -4.2

Thannk you again for your help. These get confusing to me so I really appreciate your patience. Thank you for explaining it to me.

The set of Whole numbers is a subset of the set of Integers.

Therefore, we can say that all Whole numbers are Integers, but we cannot say that all Integers are Whole numbers.
