Multiply

(0.5x^4 -0.6x^2 +0.7) - (2.3x^4 +1.8x -3.9)
0.5x^4 -0.6x^2 +0.7 -2.3x^4 -1.8x +3.9

0.5x^4 -0.6x^2 -1.8x +3.9
-2.3x^4 +0.7
answer -1.8x^4 -0.6x^2 -1.8x +4.6

CORRECT!
CLEARER if you end up this way:
.5x^4 - 2.3x^4 - .6x^2 - 1.8x + 3.9 + .07
= -1.8x^4 - .6x^2 - 1.8x + 4.6

You can simplify further by dividing by 2:
-.9x^4 - .3x^2 - .9x + 2.3

It seems to me that dividing by two results in an answer that's only half of what it should be. :?
