First off, I don't even know what we are doing in my math class. My math teacher is new to my high school and I'm a freshmen. So here is an example on what we are doing:
-5+2X=4(X-2)+3(X+2)-6

Also:

3-4X+5+-5
_________
3

My teacher tried explaining all this to me but she went so fast all the numbers and steps jumbled in my head and at one point I could even understand what she was saying. HELP ME!!!

first problem

starting at:
-5+2x=4(x-2)+3(x+2)-6
multiply the 4 into the x+2 by first multiplying x by 4 then 2 by 4
-5+2x=4x-8+3(x+2)-6
multiple the 3 into the x+2 the same way
-5+2x=4x-8+3x+6-6
combine all the x values and non x values
-5+2x=7x-8
Next step, you subtract 2x from both sides because what you do to one side you must to do the other
-5+2x-2x=7x-2x-8
-5=5x+8
next you add 8 to each side
-5+8=5x-8+8
3=5x
then divide each side by 5
3/5=x

Your solution is incorrect; how did you go from (x+2) to (x-2) ?

To the poster: what grade are you in?

I apologize for the incorrect solution, but I hit the wrong button on my keyboard and didn't have time to read over my work afterwards. I shall not respond to your inquirey however, because I do not wish for any information about me on the internet. I hope you understand. I again, I am sorry for giving the wrong information.

For the second one:
you start with:
(3-4x+5+-5)/3
you combine values with a variable and values without a variable, so it becomes:
(3-4x)/3
Then you divide by 3 and it becomes:
1-(4/3)x
