Dominic spent 1/4 of his money on a pair of socks, 1/5 of it on a magazine and 50 on a snack. If he had 82 left, how much money did he start with?

Let

The amount of money Dominic started with = M

Dominic spent 1/4 of his money on a pair of socks → he spent on socks = M/4

Thank you for the reminder.:)

I am reviewing the basic of business mathematics that I have studied years ago.

My step one is to subtract 1/4 - 1/5 - 50/1.
Am I getting anywhere with this start?
