Find the area of a triangle. It is a right triangle, one side is 2cm, the other is 5.4cm the unknown side is the hypotenuse.

Options:

a. 21.6 cm squared
b. 7.4 cm squared
c. 5.4 cm squared
d. 10.8 cm squared

Thanks for any and all help.

Hint: Area of the triangle = 1/2 * height * base

This is very strange. Do you not know the formula for area of a triangle? It is "1/2 the product of base and height". The "base" is the length of any one of the sides and the height is the distance from that side to the opposite vertex, measured, of course, along a line perpendicular to that side. For most triangles, that "height" can be difficult to calculate but for a right triangle, it is trivial.

HoI, I think this "student" is taking either a placement test or an "employment" test. The student posted ~25 of these questions.
