I need help with this logarithmic equation

I was given the problem 4^{x + 3} = 8^x and was told to solve for x

here is what i have done so far...

(x + 3) log 4 = (x) log 8 ........... (first i divide both sides by log 4)
x + 3 = (x) 1.5 ................ ( and i got 1.5 after dividing log 8 and log 4)
x + 3 = 1.5x .................. ( then i multiplied 1.5 and x)
3 = 0.5x ........................... (then i subtracted x from both sides and i got -1.5x)
6 = x............................... (the i divided -1.5 from both sides)

so did i do this correctly?

\(\displaystyle 4^{x+3}=8^x\\2^{2x+6}=2^{3x}\\2x+6=3x\)

hmm can you explain to me step by step on how you got 2x+6=3x?
