Help with multi step equations.

Order of operations backwards

5(5r-9)=155
Help please. :roll::roll::roll::roll:

Order of operations tells you that, when simplifying.

P --> Start inside parenthesis
E,R --> Simplify Exponents and Roots (left to right)
M,D --> Simplify Multiplication and division (Left to right)
A,S --> Simplify Addition and Subtraction (left to right)

But, When solving for x (in this case r). You use the above order but backwards.

Also, isolate using the inverse operation. For example: your first step is to divide both sides by 5, in this equation because you have a 5 multiplied outside of the parenthesis. This rids the left side of the 5. You are using what is called multiplicative property of equality. And the identity number for multiplication, which is '1'.
