Hi all,

The question is as follows:

Calculate the probability that the project will take longer than 13 weeks to complete:

There are 5 activities that are independent from one another, A, B, C, D, E
Activity Expected Duration
A 10
B 8
C 12
D 15
E 13

I have calculated the probabilities of completion using given variance and Z table as:

Activity Probability of completion in 13 weeks or under
A 0.9968
B 0.9999
C 0.8413
D 0.1190
E 0.2033

What is the probability that the project will take longer than 13 weeks to complete?

By what steps did you arrive at your answers? How does the (one) "project" relate to the (five independent) "activities? Why did you compute probabilities for the activities rather than for the project? What was the "given variance"? What other information were you given in the exercise?

Please be complete. Thank you! ;)
