1. A train passes city X at 8.25 am and city Y at 11.05 am. The distance between city Xand Y is 320 miles. What is the average speed in miles per hour of the train?

2.
At the same moment, two trains leave Chicago and New York. They move towards each other with costant speeds. The train from Chicago is moving at speed of 40 miles per hour, and the train from New York is moving at speed of 60 miles per hour. The distance between Chicago and New York is 1000 miles. How long after their departure will they meet?

Hint: equation to use: distance traveled = (constant speed of travel) * (time spent in travel)

HINT:
1. 150 miles per hour because the track length is 400 miles between cities X and Y.

2. 12.76 hours because the track winds about so that the track length between Chicago and New York is 1276 miles.
