Maths question involving average speed problems - multiple choice answer

This is a multiple choice question..

1. The average speed for a journey of 300miles was 50mph (miles per hour). Thw average speed for the first 150 miles was 60mph. What was the average speed for the second 150miles of the journey?

(a) Between 55 and 60mph

(b) Betweeb 50 and 55mph

(c) Between 45 and 50mph

(d) Between 40 and 45mph

Would be appreaciated if someone could help me out on how to do it xx

To learn how to set up and solve this sort of exercise, please try online lessons such as (this one). Then please attempt the exercise. For instance, you'd start with the basic information:

. . . . .distance: 300
. . . . .rate: 50
. . . . .time: t = d/r = [fill this in]

. . .first part:
. . . . .distance: 150
. . . . .rate: 60
. . . . .time: t = [divide to fill this in]

. . .second part:
. . . . .distance: [subtract to get this part]
. . . . .rate: r
. . . . .time: [subtract to get this part]

Then you'd create an equation for the "second part", and solve, etc.
