Need help solving an evil geocache puzzle :O

Ok so I'm looking for geocaches close to home and this puzzle cache pops up. I have NO idea where to begin. :confused:
I'm looking for coordinates likely near here N 41° 36.124 W 086° 43.886 (any ideas?)

***A friend who was one of a handful to figure it out sent me this info
"Ok, it took me a while to figure this one out. I got a couple hints from Vamtrix that were dead ends for me.
But basically the idea is to convert the numbers to Kelvin temperature. Like I said, it didn't work for me so I brut forced it. Let me know how you do."

OK. Spent most of the day thinking about this. Asked my brilliant son, who is also a geocacher, and he cracked it in 20 minutes!

Do you want the answer or a hint towards the answer?

Using the coordinates you have given and thinking that nearby would have same degree, possibly same minutes, but different decimals.
It's basically an alpha-numeric code. The hint "don't be so negative" could have something to do with the fact that as the alphabet "increases" from A to Z, the numbers decrease.

Wow, pretty simple once you got me started. :cool:
However, I don't think I'd have ever figured it out without your and your BRILLIANT son's help! ;) I can't believe all that strain on the brain leads to a light pole in a Burger King/Arbys parking lot...LOL
