My daughter recently returned from a year in Melbourne. If she could go back to Australia for good, I think that she would, in about a heartbeat.

Now she says things like fair dinkum and bloody oath, as well as a lot of abbreviated things. Avo is afternoon, right? :)

Glad she enjoyed her time here (although Brisbane is much nicer than Melbourne imho).

We play around with words a bit here. Arvo is afternoon.

Hey Otis would become Hey Oats. Denis would become Denno. If someone gives you a nickname, it's usually a sign of friendship!
