Not sure if anyone can help with this but here it goes:

Thomas owns a farm. He wants to have a campsite in one of his fields.

The campsite must be:

at least 15m from any fence
square with an area of 1600m2

Scale: 1:500

Draw a scale plan to include these calculations.

If the scale is "1:500" -- with obviously the larger number being the "on the ground" number, since the map or drawing would necessarily be smaller than the actual plot -- then how many meters on the drawing are related to how many meters on the farm? How many drawn centimeters is this? Then how wide a set-back, on the drawing, will correspond to the fifteen-meter set-back required by zoning laws applicable to the farm?

And so forth. Please reply showing your work and reasoning so far, starting with your answers to the above questions. Thank you! ;)

To help you get started, 402 = 1600
