If x/y=5/7, find the value of (3x-2y)/(4x-3y). My fist post in this form. Thanks for any expert who could help.

x/y=5/7 → x = 5/7 * y

then:

(3x-2y)/(4x-3y) → [3*5/7 * y - 2*y]/[4*5/7 * y - 3y] ...... simplify and continue....

Multiply both numerator and denominator by 1/y

(3x-2y)/(4x-3y) = (3(x/y)-2) / (4(x/y)-3) when y is not zero which it is not. because (x/y)=5/7.
Now just substitute 5/7 where you see (x/y).
