algebra 2: 2 students are disputing the properties of a function

Two students in your class, Tucker and Kathy are disputing a function. Tucker says that for the function between X=-3 and X=3, the average rate f change is 0. Kathy says that for the function, between X=-3 and X=3, the graph goes up through a turning point ad then back down. Explain how Tucker an Kathy can be both correct.

Draw a graph that complies with Kathy's description. Then consider the endpoints, along with the definition of "average rate of change". ;)
