I assume the expression given to you is:

-2x2 - 7x + 4

Which of the following methods have you been taught:

  1. a-c factorization
  2. Completing squares
  3. Quadratic formula

I only know learned a bit about factoring.

I'm not sure how to get the 7x from the answer:

-(2x - 1)(x + 4)

Answer: -(2x - 1)(x + 4)

Hint:

-2 * 4 = -8 = -8 * 1

-8 + 1 = -7
