I helped my niece with an algebra problem and the teacher came up with a different answer than I did so I was wondering if someone could tell me if I did not do something correctly or how did the teacher come up with the answer.
the problem is y+2=⅔(x+4)
I came up with 2x-3y=-2
The teacher came up with x+3y=0
Any assistance you could provide would be most helpful.
Thanks!
Edit: My solution:
3(y+2)=3((2/3)(x+4))
3y+6=2(x+4)
3y+6=2x+8
-2x+3y+6=8
-2x+3y=2
2x-3y=-2
