Prisha has two cubical boxes of different sizes. the sides of the larger box are twice that of the smaller box. She packed 27 identical cubes exactly into the smaller box. How many such cubes can she pack exactly into the larger box.

What happens to the volume of a cube, when the side length is doubled?

:idea: You could experiment, to find out.

Let x = smaller side length

Let 2x = larger side length

Calculate the volume of a cube with side length x.

Calculate the volume of a cube with side length 2x.

How much bigger is the larger volume?
