Im trying to get the derivative of the followimg function:

f(x)=(x^2+3x-1)/(x+1)

So far i have this:

f'(x)=(x+1)(2x+3)-(x^2+3x-1)(1)/(x+1)^2
and simplyfied it to (x^2+2x+4)/(x+1)^2
but i need to find the critical values of (x^2+2x+4) so i can find where f(x) is increasing and decreasing PLEASE I REALLY NEED HELP!!!!!!!

f'(x) = (x^2+2x+4)/(x+1)^2 > 0 for all x not equal to -1.

so ... what's that tell you about f(x) ?
