What is the first step to solve an equation in the form a/b(x) = c/d ? what is the soloution of the equation

there are no furhter instructions just says provide the appropriate responce.

would the answer be multiply a/b to c/d to get x by itlsef?

I'm not sure what you mean. Is the original equation as follows:

. . . . .a/(bx) = c/d

...or maybe:

. . . . .(a/b)x = c/d

...or something else? What do you mean by "multiplying a/b to c/d"? If you multiply on both sides by a/b, you'd get something like:

. . . . .(a/b)2 x = (ac)/(bd)

This wouldn't likely be helpful, if the goal is to isolate x.

Second one you said.. in words x right next to a over b

Then divide off what's multiplied on the x, in order to get x by itself.
