You can solve with the help this example
2x + -4y = -24
Solving for variable 'x'
Move all terms containing x to the left, all other terms to the right
Add '4y' to each side of the equation
2x + -4y + 4y = -24 + 4y
Combine like terms: -4y + 4y = 0
2x + 0 = -24 + 4y
2x = -24 + 4y
Divide each side by '2'
x = -12 + 2y
x = -12 + 2y
2x + -4y = -24
