How to calculate z-score given area?

I was given the problem of: "Find the number z-score such that the proportion of observations that are less than z in a standard Normal distribution is 0.98." I am sort of confused on how to find the z-score.

Firstly, always draw a diagram. The score will be well over to the right of the bell-shaped curve. Shade in the area under the curve to the left of this point.

How you proceed will depend on whether you are using tables or a calculator. What are you using?
