I am studying for a math test the i have this week and i am confused on how to finish the solution to this problem.

"You are selling tickets at a basketball game. Student admission is 4$ and General admission is 5$. you sell 350 tickets and collected 1460$. How many of each kinda of ticket did u sell?"

I know that the equations are S+G=350 and 4s=5g=1460 ( S being student admission and G being general admssion. What do i do with these two equations?

Re: Linear Equation

Your 2 equations:
s + g = 350 : s = 350 - g [1]
4s + 5g = 1460 [2]

Substitute [1] in [2]:
4(350 - g) + 5g = 1460

Finish it off...
