Hi,

I need verification of answer for a linear inequality problem in my SSAT workbook:

0.25
x
+ 4
y
– 4 > 0.75
x
+ 12 in terms of
y

the book has: y > .125x + 4

I come up with:
y > .50x + 4
Other thoughts?

Thanks,

Carrie

Linear inequality question:

0.25
x
+ 4
y
– 4 > 0.75
x
+ 12 in terms of
y

The SSAT book has y > .125x + 4 as the answer.

I come up with y > .50x + 4

Thoughts?

Thanks,

If your problem statement:

0.25 * x + 4 * y - 4 > 0.75 * x + 12

Express in terms of 'y'

- then the book answer is correct.

I cannot tell where you slipped - because you did not show any work.

I suspect that you forgot

0.5/4 = 0.125

Got it! thanks

I forgot to divided .5x/4 I just divided 16/4 in the below equation stage

4y > .5x + 16
