Hello, I am new to this site and I know nothing about Algebra. My friend doesn't either but she's in college online and has a few algebra problems she can't figure out. I have uploaded the pictures she sent me via text. Can someone please look over them and give her the answer and explain how you came to the answer. This work is due Sunday est 10-5-14. Thanks a lot!!!!!!

9. Answer the questions about the following function:

. . . . .\(\displaystyle f(x)\, =\, \dfrac{x\, +\, 5}{x\, -\, 3}\)

(a) Is the point (6, 5) on the graph of f?

(b) If x = 2, what is f? What point is on the graph?

(c) If f(x) = 2, what is x? What point(s) is(are) on the graph?

(d) What is the domain of f?

(e) List the x-intercept(s), if any, of the graph of f.

(f) List the y-intercept, if any, of the graph of f.

11.A golf ball is hit with an initial velocity of 140 feet per second at an inclination of 45° to the horizontal. In physics [cut off in image] established that the height h of the ball is given by the function

. . . . .\(\displaystyle h(x)\, =\, \dfrac{-32x^2}{140^2}\, +\, x\)

where x is the horizontal distance that the golf ball has traveled.

(a) [omitted from image]

(b) What is the height after it has traveled 250 feet?

(c) What is the height after it has traveled 400 feet?

(d) How far does the golf ball travel before it lands?

From long experience, I know that attempting to communicate through a "translator" who doesn't actually "speak the language" is likely only to end in frustration for all. So kindly please have the student reply with her work and reasoning so far, so we can see where she's having trouble. Then we can intelligently begin helping her.

For instance, for (11), what did she get when she plugged the given x-values into the given function for parts (b) and (c)? Thank you! ;)
