I don't know if it because I am exhausted or if I just simply cannot remember how to set up these problems. I would appreciate any help with these two problems.

1. Brenda correctly answered 24 questions on a true-false test and received a score of 42%. How many questions were on the test?

I don't remember how to set this up! :oops:

2. If Brenda had answered 49 questions correctly out of 75 questions, what percent score should she receive?

Here is what I came up with:

49/75 = 65.33

Thanks in advance!!!

There are only three values.

# Correct
# of Questions
Percentage.

Given any two, simply solve for the third.

On the Second -- 49/75 = ???? 49/75 = 0.6533333... = 65.33% - As you have stated. Good work.

On the first, -- 24/?? = 42% = 0.42 ==> 24/0.42 = 57.14285 -- Which is a very strange answer.

You tell me why it is strange and then tell me how to fix it.
