After experimenting Equation of straight line, I have come to a conclusion that, If I am going to find y given x then,

- I have to take coordinates that provide me change in y as positive.
- Rate of change = change in y / change in x but no vice versa.
- Intercept must by y not x.

If there is any change or wrong assumption then please inform me. Thanks in advance.

What do you mean by "change in y"? If you're trying to "find y, given x", what "changing" is going on? Aren't you just evaluating to find a plot point?

- Rate of change = change in y / change in x but no vice versa.
If you are referring to the value of the slope m in a straight-line equation "y = mx + b", then you are correct.

- Intercept must by y not x.
I'm sorry, but I can't guess what this might be intended to mean...?
