Is (4)(a) considered to be simplified/in simplest form or no? Is 4*a considered to be simplified/in simplest form or no?

In my opinion, those two statements are equivalent. If I absolutely have to choose one, 4*a would be my choice.

I would say that "4a" is the "simplest" form. ;)

There are two questions and the answer to both is no. 4a is simplified for both (4)(a) and 4*a just as Stapel suggested
