I can't make it factor, either. Are you sure it does? Please help me factorise 9x^2-4a^2+4ay +y^2. I took out "-" as a common factor from - 4a^2+4ay +y^2 but I cannot factorise it further using difference of 2 squares.
I think the problem is supposed to be \(9x^2-4a^2+4ay-y^2\), with the last term's sign changed. Check the original. Please help me factorise 9x^2-4a^2+4ay +y^2. I took out "-" as a common factor from - 4a^2+4ay +y^2 but I cannot factorise it further using difference of 2 squares.
