7th grade math problem: 5x = -3(x + 4) + 28

I need some help please!!! The question is:

. . .5x = -3(x + 4) +28

Here is what I did:

. . .5x = -3(x + 4) + 28
. . .5x = -3x - 12 + 28

This is where im stuck. Do I subtract the twelve? Anything will help. Thank you!
 
Yes, you would subtract the 12 from the 28. Then you would probably want to add 3x to either side of the equation, and then divide through by 8.
