I'm having a difficult time with word problems and need help with one specifically. It reads like this and I don't think there is enough information but I could be wrong. Ted is driving to Woods. The graph representing his distance d from Wood in miles and the number of hours h he drives has a slope of 50 and h-intercept 800.

What is Teds average speed?
How far from Wood was ted at the start of the trip?

Thanks lookagain I did figure it out y=mx+b

Thanks but I was able to get the y=mx+b with the information into the correct spot.:p

Do you understand why "y= mx+ b" is correct and what each of those letters represents?

The original problem was:
Ted is driving to Woods. The graph representing his distance d from Wood in miles and the number of hours h he drives has a slope of 50 and h-intercept 800.
Do you know what to do because there is no "x" or "y" in the given problem?

(notice that the words "slope" and "intercept" above are links. Click on the links to see definitions of those words.)
