A sector OAC subtended at O with radius 15 cm as shown in the figure above. Given length of AB is 12 cm, OB is 9 cm and AB is perpendicular to OC.
Find
i) the angle AOC in radian (2 marks)

You might want to first redraw the picture so that the arc looks more like its center is at O; that will help you see things right.

I'm sorry but that's as far I can go. I do know the radius is 15 but I have no idea how to correlate any equations to find the angle

So that [imath]m(\angle AOC)=\arctan\left(\dfrac{\ell(\overline{AB})}{\ell(\overline{BO)}}\right)[/imath]

What is the relationship between the area of the triangle, the shaded area, and the area of the sector?
