I'm not sure how to do these, I'd really appreciate it if someone could explain and helped me out. Thanks! :D

Consider 2(x + y)
a) What property is illustrated by the equation 2(x + y)= 2x + 2y ?

b) Evaluate: 2x + 2y if x = 3 and y = 5.

(2) (3) (2) (5)
60?

A.) That is called the distributive property

B.) Evaluate: 2x + 2y if x = 3 and y = 5.

Don't forget your addition symbol!

2(3) + 2(5) = 6 + 10 = 16
