Hi, I need help factoring abx + 2abx
The easy stuff usually throws me off:/
I got abx(1 + 2) as an answer but it doesn't seem right for some reason.

Well, you actually factored it correctly, but unless the problem specifically asked you to factor it, which I'm not sure why it would, you would not factor this as these terms as the can be added since they have the same variables, namely abx. So, abx + 2abx = 3abx. Make sense? You can also notice this in your factoring: abx(1 + 2) = abx(3) = 3abx ;)

I'm positive. The directions say: factor each expression. Question number 17 is: abx + 2abx
