I am having alot of trouble with factoring, and would appreciate help with the following example problems.

1) Find the GCF of the product (6y^2 - 3y)(y + 7).

2) Find the GCF of 12 a^3 b^2, 18 a^2 b^3, and 6 a^4 b^4.

3) Factor 4s + 6st - 14st^2

Note: I am doing math class online so I am really struggling with finding someone to explain things to me.

Thanks so much!!! :)

Since we cannot teach the requested lessons within this environment, please consider studying some of the lessons available online.

. . . . .Google results for "GCF polynomials"

. . . . .Google results for "simple factoring polynomials"

If you need more "hands on" instruction, you might want to consider hiring a tutor with whom you can meet a few hours a week (daily would be best) to get caught up on this material.

But if the online lessons were sufficient to give you a basic grasp of the terms and techniques, then please attempt the exercises. If you get stuck, please reply showing all of your work and reasoning, and we'll be glad to help you get un-stuck.

Thank you.

Eliz.
