Geometry Range Help

Hey there! So I'm having a bit of trouble with this problem in my geometry class. It's regarding range, and that's a topic that's kind of confused me. I know you have to figure out the least value, and greatest value, but I'm not too sure how to go about that. Any tips? The question is attached bellow. Thank you all so much!

Imagine you have two sticks, 16 and 29 inches long, attached at one end. How far apart could you make the far ends? How close could you get them? This is largely common sense, and the triangle inequality just expresses that formally.
