ok i just want to see if i did this right
given the functions
f(x) =-3x squared -x-4
g(x) =-x+1
find (f-g)(-3) i got -32
and (f x g) (-3) and -14

Please demonstrate how you arrived at those values.

-3xsquared-x-4 (-x+1)
-3x squared -x -4 -x-1
-3 x9 -5
-27 -5 -32

Is this sloppy typing ? It's not very clear. :?

Yes, the answer is -32.

-3x^2 - x - 4 - (-x + 1)

-3x^2 - x - 4 + x - 1

-3x^2 - 5

-3(-3)^2 - 5

-27 - 5

-32

Again, it's not clear what you are doing. The operation is missing.

\(\displaystyle (-3x^{2} -x - 4) * (-x+1) = ??\)
