-3m + 4n = 14 : eq 1 multiplied by -1
3m - 2n = -2 : eq 2
Add them together:
2n = 12
n = 12/2 = 6
Denis said:Nooooo, Christina; there are 2 equations; other one is:
3m-2n=-2
3(-2) - 2(2) = -6 - 4 = -10; that's not -2
You need to find a solution that fits BOTH equations.
See daon's post.
Here's a way to do it:
I'll let you calculate mCode:-3m + 4n = 14 : eq 1 multiplied by -1 3m - 2n = -2 : eq 2 Add them together: 2n = 12 n = 12/2 = 6

I didn't know there were 2 equations. The answer to the second equation would be -2 and -2 if it were by itself.
