Normally 'expand', as in your title, means to multiply the two terms. If that was what you intended, use the "distributive law". (x+ 3)(x^2+ 2x+ 1)= x(x^2+ 2x+ 1)+ 3(x^2+ 2x+ 1). Can you do those mutiplications?
If you really do mean "factor", x+ 3 cannot be factored but x^2+ 2x+ 1 can. Recall that (x+ a)^2= x^2+ 2ax+ a^2 and compare that with your expression.
