question make no sense to me unless i am reading it wrong

:roll: :roll: :?: :?: If the scale of the drawing is 1/4 in equals 1 ft, what actual length is represented by 3 in on the drawing.. i am confused :shock: to me the question makes no sense unless my teacher just wrote it why i can't understand. does she mean inches :? :cry:
if that is so then
1/4 inches = 1 ft.
so

Multiply the length given in the problem (3 in on the drawing) times the conversion factor (the drawing scale: ¼ in = 1 ft):

(3 in/1)(1 ft/(1/4 in)) = 12 ft

Make sense now?
