Hi, could somebody explain this to me please. I'm studying for my university entrance test, and this is a practice question.

You can think of an operation as a function. This is a binary operation and so can be expressed as a function in two variables.

[MATH]f(a,\ b) = \dfrac{a + b}{a - b},\ a \ne b.[/MATH]
You are being asked to calculate

[MATH]f(f(6,\ 4),\ 2) = WHAT?[/MATH]
Do not get rattled by unfamiliar notation.

An example for you to complete:

A ?B = (A × B)/(A + B)

If A = 6 and B = 3 then
6 ?3
= (6 × 3)/(6 + 3)
= 18/9
= 2

6 ?3 ?5
= 2 ?5
Can you continue?
