I know how to simplify radicals but i am kind of confused on how to multiply and divide.
One of the problems i have to do is (4 square root 6)^2
does the ^2 cancel out the square root?
or is the answer 16 square root 36 then 22 simplified?

I will guess that you're supposed to "simplify" the expression...?

To learn, in general, how to work with radicals, try here. For this particular exercise, use what you know about exponents to note that:

. . . . .\(\displaystyle (4 \sqrt{6})^2\, =\, (4)^2\, (\sqrt{6})^2\, =\, 16\, \times\, 6\)

...and so forth.
