I think it's a typo. One wouldn't expect to see c used in both the function definition and the bounds in the question; and if we do take it as having the same value in both places, the claim is false:

So the function is really [imath]\sin(2x)-x^2+3[/imath]. The superscript c is not exponential but rather an indication of x is in radians.
