I am trying to learn how to solve linear equations and simplify, where in this example 3a is not equal to -2b.
This is what I have done so far, I am also to understand that where terms are not the same then they cannot be simplified.
Solution
Multiply out the brackets;
Have I got this right or am I missing something?
Thanks

This is what I have done so far, I am also to understand that where terms are not the same then they cannot be simplified.
3a(3a – x) = 2b(x + 2b)
Multiply out the brackets;
9a2 – 3ax = 2bx + 4b2
9a2 – 4b2 = 3ax – 2bx
9a2 – 4b2 = (3a – 2b)x
Thanks
