They did not report
y1 = (vo - v1)/(2g)
They reported:
y1 = (vo2 - v12)/(2g)
Watch those squares!! Also they assumed yo = 0

Isolate y1 - and answer should almost fall-off ......
Correct....I am self taught algebra over past 4 months so if I am lacking it’s just my learning curve. As all this question is just isolating the variable to solve
